Nintendo Wii Game Console
The simple design of the Wii makes it very easy to hook up.  The back panel of the console has only five ports: one for the power adapter, one for the proprietary A/V cable, one for the sensor bar, and two USB ports for future accessories. Plug in the sensor bar and put it either on top of or under your television, plug the video cable into your TV, plug the power cable into the wall, and you're ready to go!  Once everything is hooked together, just turn on the Wii to go through the software setup, using the wireless controller.
The Nintendo Wii Console is to date the best selling home gaming system.  This new generation system uses a device that looks more like a TV remote than a gamepad for it's interactive games. The Wii succeeds in it's primary mission: It's fun to play!

The system comes with Wii Sports, a fun and infectious sports game that lets users get a feel for the Wii's capabilities before looking into more games.  Wii Sports uses the system's wireless controller as "sporting equipment" letting players swing and throw to play baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, and boxing. The different games can support up to four players at one time. Players can swap the single remote back and forth for golf and bowling, but an additional remote is needed if you want to play each other in tennis, boxing, or baseball. All of the games can be played by a single player against the game. Either way, it lets users have fun right out of the box!

The Wii's system also offers a variety of Media and online capabilities. The default channels are a weather forecast channel, a news channel, a message channel, the Photo Channel, which lets you display and edit photos, and the avatar-generating Mii channel.
The Mii channel lets users create and modify Miis, little avatars for use online and in certain games. They are cartoony and simple to do and include enough customization features for users to create Miis that look like themselves, their friends or even celebrities.
The sensor bar us a small and light plastic rectangle that sits on top or underneath your television, and it connects to the Wii using about an eight foot cord so that it is simple and flexible.  The Wiimote, as it's been dubbed, is a sophisticated motion-sensing controller that connects to the Wii using the Bluetooth wiress protocol. Although wireless, the Wiimote uses two AA batteries. You can also purchase rechargeable AA batteries and a battery charger for even longer play.
